The Golden Age Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to serving the special needs of our shareholders and residents. Its purpose is to make our community a better and happier place in which to live. When there is a well-defined need calling for a solution, Golden Age will fill it whenever possible.

  • Clubhouse 6 Exercise Equipment
  • Audio-Alert Traffic Signal

  • Ice Machines and Sound Equipment for Clubhouses
MOBILITY AIDS
Borrow a wheelchair or walker at no cost. Over 500 wheelchairs and walkers are loaned out each year by volunteers. To request this service or return a mobility aid, call (562) 431-9589.
TAX RETURN ASSISTANCE
Have your basic income taxes prepared by qualified volunteers. Every year hundreds of
shareholders file their income tax returns with the assistance of qualified volunteer preparers…free of charge.
ORANGE COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING BENEFITS ENROLLMENT CENTER
The Foundation provides financial support for an on-site Orange County Council on Aging Benefits Enrollment Center (BEC) The BEC office is located in Clubhouse 5, next to the Cafe. Assistance is available in both English and Korean. Shareholders interested in getting help with 1) Medicare insurance costs and program benefits, 2) Medi-Cal (Cal-Optima) for Medicare beneficiaries, 3) Cal Fresh (food stamps), and 4) Utility Assistance programs, can schedule an appointment in the office without the need to travel to various programs. To inquire about these programs, call the HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) office at (562) 472-6275, ext. 275.
FLU CLINIC
Golden Age Foundation assists the onsite Health Care Center in providing an annual flu clinic. Each year thousands of shareholders receive flu shots with the assistance of many Golden Age volunteers. Each year the dates of the clinic are published in the
Golden Rain News.
BATTERY & LIGHT BULB RECYCLING
Golden Age pays for the collection and safe disposal of used batteries and fluorescent light bulbs.Drop off your used batteries at the Hospitality Center in Clubhouse 6 and/or the News Office. Dispose of used florescent light bulbs at the Service Maintenance Yard.

Hospitality Center

Over 41,000 residents each year stop by the Hospitality center to visit old friends and make new friends.

Every Monday – Friday between 9 to 11 am, Golden Age sponsors a Hospitality Center in Clubhouse 6. Coffee and tea are served to residents who drop by to visit their fellow shareholders. A Golden Age volunteer is on hand to welcome you.

How to Contribute

The Golden Age Foundation is run entirely by volunteers, so all contributions go directly to meet your community needs. The generous support of shareholders, residents and friends is the sole source of income. Add the work of many volunteers and this is what makes the Foundation’s programs and projects possible. Here are some ways to help: Become a member and make a yearly contribution. Consider leaving a lasting legacy by naming Golden Age Foundation as a beneficiary in your estate planning.
