Lapidary & Jewelry Making

The Lapidary and Jewelry Club invite you to stop in and see what is going on in our shop.

Our members create jewelry and enjoy the fellowship of other interested residents. Our room is equipped with all kinds of equipment . . . from rocks to cutting saws to casting equipment. Our members make cabochons, bracelets, earrings, bolo ties, clocks or your choice of other objects. We have some interesting rocks for our members use.

We have several different classes throughout the year, including making cabochons wire wrapping of stones for pendants, necklaces, beading classes to make necklaces and bracelets, silversmithing and enameling classes.

Our equipment includes large and small saws to cut rocks, sanders and grinders to shape rocks. We have faceting machines for the cutting and shaping of rocks, glass or CZ’s. We have casting equipment for the casting of silver, gold or brass from lost wax patterns, polishing tumblers and ovens.

Membership is paid once a year. We have two barbecues in the summer and a Christmas party. Our Lapidary room is open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 2 pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 12:00, with supervisors available at all times. There is an extensive library available for members use.
