The Art League hosts monthly competitions of work submitted by members at each monthly meeting. Members are requested to check in their entries before 6:30 pm on the evening of the meeting. Works are judged by the demonstrator for that month meeting. Only one entry per member is allowed at each monthly show. However, a member may also submit an additional entry in the popular vote category.
The categories for entries are as follows: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters (for oils, watercolors, mixed and other media); Crafts/3D, and Digital Art.
Work must be presented in a professional manner. All entries except Craft/3D must be framed (gallery-wrapped canvases are considered “self-framed”). Art work submitted for judging at League meetings are awarded First, Second and Third place ribbons in each category depending on the numbers of works submitted. A Best of Show ribbon is awarded and Honorable Mention ribbons may be given at the judge’s discretion. The Popular Vote ribbon is determined by secret ballot of members in attendance.
