The Sunshine Club of Seal Beach Leisure World (Anna Derby, President) hosts classes to help with everyday living in Leisure World, on Fridays in Club House 3, Room 2, from 10 to 12:00 a.m. It is an English speaking class; all other ethnic shareholders are welcome to attend.
Club began the classes on Friday, January 12, 2012, 7 years ago.
As a Leisure World resident, we consider the “GRF News” is the treasures of information to enhance of living in here, like activities, various events, beneficial classes, learn different cultures. Also it gets to opportunities to learn GRF rules and regulations if we haven’t had chance to do. The class will use weekly GRF News as text book to go over news, general column, Minute of Monthly Mutual Meeting and Minute of Monthly Meeting of Board of Directors, etc.
As Club celebrate 6 years anniversary, club invited total of 36 speakers throughout this year, the most speakers in last 6 years since club founded with “information and communication” for neighbors, tied in 2016.
Among 36 of them, ten from GRF Managers, Executive Administrator, GRF Board President and Finance Committee, Editor of GRNews , or different department supervisors were there to give information shareholders would need to make L.W living more beneficial. Also invited were GRF Board different committee, Physical property Special Project Engineer, and Resources Liaison.
Five of speakers were invited community leaders or various club representatives who would introduce their clubs, organizations and purpose of theirs, L.W. Women’s Club, Y’s Service Club, Video Producers Club, Impair Hearing & Vision Club, and Emergency Meals Club.
The rest of twenty-one Speakers invited from outside of wall were; Senior Safety by Retired SBPD, Speech Therapist, How to handle Clutter, On Site Resale Office, Superwire telecom, Inc., Volunteers from Seal Beach Animal Care Center, Hearing Specialist, Care Ambulance Public Relation, Computer Specialist, State Representative talked about Frauds, Scams, Senior Safety, Toast Masters in Huntington Beach, Council On Aging Orange County, How to maintain Brain Active, Pain Management Specialist, Elder Law, Magician, and Manufacturer Inventor, etc.
In 2016, club invited 17 from outside wall.
By finding out their purposes and activities, it would help members to broaden and enhance their interest in community.
Total attendance of 52 meetings Club had drew 2,342, averaged 47 each meeting. With 36 speakers, it drew 1,833 attendance average of 51 each, scored high of 78, and few times numbers went over 75.
It is very impressive numbers of 16 without speakers meeting on the first Fridays, drew average of 36 in CH 3 Room 4.
Over all, year of 2017 maintained good as in 2016, 52 meetings with total of 2,278 and average of with speakers attendance of 52.
At this time, earliest speaker appearance would be in August in 2018 and previous Fridays are all filled up with GRF specialists and outside first time appearance.
Club had various specialist to help members to learn from health to history and local community we’re in. Through it all, it was fun to have these different professionals to hear from their years experience to share with us to benefit our daily living and we thank you for those speakers took their time to give us presentation without any compensation except applaud and appreciation.
The Sunshine Club is designed to help all different ethnic people to get along in the community and for neighbors to have better communications and to get the best out of living in Leisure World by learning how to use available information. The classes use The News as a textbook to go over LW news, general columns, etc.
Club hosts classes to help with everyday living in Leisure World, on Fridays, in CH 3 Room 2 (except the first Friday in Room 4), from 10 to 12:00 p.m. All shareholders are welcome to attend, no membership required. To extend Holiday with family and friends, there’s no club meeting on next three weeks beginning December, 22 to January, 5th, in 2018.
The Sunshine of SBLW is designed to help all different ethnic people to get along in the community and for neighbors to have better communications. It also hopes to give shareholders opportunities to learn about GRF rules and regulations.
The Sunshine Club of SBLW was established and designed to help Korean- Americans and all ethnic groups to get along in this wonderful community and to have better communication with neighbors. The Sunshine Club is happy to be part of a liaison when new residents have issues with their Mutual or GRF due to lack of information or regulations.
No membership required. Refreshment is provided.
The Sunshine Club meets every Friday at CH 3, Room 4, 10:00 -12:00.
Sunshine Club of Leisure World
The Sunshine Club of SBLW is designed to help all ethnic groups to get along in this wonderful community, and to have better communications with neighbors. The club has frequent guest speakers and uses information in the Golden Rain News as a textbook to get the best out of living in Leisure World. The class leaders will also invite leaders from other L.W. clubs to introduce the purpose and activities of their clubs to those in attendance.
The class reviews news, general columns, the minutes of monthly mutual meetings, the minutes of monthly Board of Directors meetings, etc. in the paper each week. The Sunshine Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 8, from 10 a.m.-noon. There are no membership dues; everyone in L.W is welcome to join.
