Library
The Leisure World Library plays an important role as the cultural, educational, and informational heart of the Leisure World community.
The library provides free and easy access to information, books and technology to enrich, educate and empower every individual in this diverse community.
The Leisure World Library offers free access to nearly 40,000 items, including books, audiobooks, movies, music, and periodicals. WiFi, computers, printers, and scanners are also available. Dynamic programming includes the annual Authorspeak series featuring popular writers. A GRF ID card is required to check out materials and use other resources.
Computers and Wi-Fi
A limited number of desktop computers are available.
The public computers are self-service only. Staff members will not be able to provide extensive help at computer stations.
Desktop computers are available:
- Monday – Friday, 9:30am - 5:00pm
- Saturday, 9:30am - 3:00pm
- Windows 10 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- USB ports and External DVD/CDRW drives for saving work.
- Free use of scanner equipment available.
- Printing: $0.10/page black & white.
- A waiting list feature when all computers are in use.
- Desktop can be used for up to two hours each day.
Wi-Fi Hotspots:
- Free Wi-Fi hotspots are available at LW Library and the Clubhouses.
- No password is required.
- Wi-Fi signals are labeled "GRF Guest".
- Wi-Fi hotspots have the strongest connections inside buildings, but ranges can extend up to 50 feet from the building perimeter.
Copier:
- Self-serve with guidance from staff available upon request.
- $0.10/page for black and white copies.
- $0.15/page for color copies.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Leisure World Library is a volunteer group that supports the library financially to augment resources and sponsor cultural programs. The Friends of the Library runs a bookstore to benefit the library. Books, puzzles, cards, and other items are for sale.
Friends of the Library membership is open to all residents. Volunteers provide invaluable hours of assistance and are trained in a variety of ways to help where needed. Call 562-596-7735 for more information on membership or volunteering.
